New ship prices of three major ship types rose together
Clarkson statistics show that the newbuilding price indices for bulk carriers, tankers and container ships rose by 3, 2 and 1 points to 126, 147 and 76 points respectively in January.
In January, all types of bulk carrier newbuilding prices increased from a year earlier. Among them, the new vessel prices of Cape of Good Hope bulk carrier (176/180KDWT), Panamax bulk carrier (75/77KDWT), Handysize bulk carrier (61/63KDWT) and Handysize bulk carrier (25/30KDWT) increased by USD 1.5 million, USD 750,000, USD 750,000 and USD 450,000 48 million, USD 26.25 million, USD US$24.75 million and US$21.1 million.
For tanker newbuilding prices, except for Panamax tankers (73-75KDWT) and Handysize tankers (47-51KDWT), the newbuilding prices of all types of tankers have increased, including VLCCs (315-320KDWT), Suezmax tankers (156-158KDWT) and Aframax tankers (113-115KDWT). new vessel prices rose by USD 2.5 million, USD 1.5 million and USD 1 million to USD 88 million, USD 57.5 million and USD 47.5 million, respectively; new vessel prices for Panamax tankers (73-75KDWT) and Handysize tankers (47-51KDWT) were USD 42.5 million and USD 34 million.
The new vessel prices of container vessels, except for the new vessel prices of sub-panamax container vessels, which were flat, the new vessel prices of all other types of container vessels increased, among which the new vessel prices of ultra-panamax container vessels (10,000-11,000TEU, 13,000-14,000TEU and 20,000-22,000TEU) increased by USD 3.5 million, USD 2 million and USD 2 million to USD 91 million, USD 11 million and USD 2 million respectively. 2 million to US$91 million, US$104 million and US$144 million respectively; new vessel prices for Panamax containerships (6600-6800TEU and 3500-4000TEU) increased by US$0.5 million and US$0.0 million to US$72.5 million and US$40.25 million respectively; new vessel prices for Sub-Panamax containerships (2600-2900TEU) were 30 million USD and handysize containerships (1000-1100TEU and 1850-2100TEU) new vessel prices rose by USD 1 million and USD 0.5 million to USD 19 million and USD 23 million, respectively.
